Tell us why you're considering removal
You may be concerned about a tree's condition, planning changes to the garden or dealing with a tree that has outgrown its location. Describe what you've noticed. If the concern involves possible damage, include where it is occurring without assuming the tree is the cause.
The position matters as much as the size
Mention roofs, fences, pools, sheds, powerlines and neighbouring structures. Also describe vehicle access, the route to the tree, gates, stairs and slopes. You don't need exact measurements to make a first enquiry.
Removal and felling are not always the same approach
Where there is space, felling may be an option. In confined areas, a different approach may be needed. The method should be considered against the site and tree conditions; a photo alone cannot settle every detail.
Be clear about what happens afterwards
Ask whether your scope includes branches, timber and other green waste. If you want to keep wood or mulch, mention it before the job is agreed. Stump removal should be discussed separately so you know what will remain at ground level.
Check approvals before work begins
Private ownership does not automatically mean a tree can be removed. Some vegetation is protected. Check the current requirements for your property with the relevant council and share any approval conditions with your enquiry.
