What affects tree removal cost?
The amount of work, tree condition, access and nearby structures all matter. A tree beside a roof or power line can need a different approach from one in an open garden. Gates, steps, slopes and the route for equipment also affect the job. Photos can help start the discussion; an on-site assessment may be needed before a firm price.
Tree removal on the NorthsideCompare the whole quote, not just the lowest number
Check which trees or branches are covered, how branches and logs will be handled, whether stump work is included, and what will remain afterwards. Ask for the total including GST where applicable, any exclusions and any approval or access assumptions. Agree on changes and their price before extra work starts.
Stump grinding has its own scope
Tell us the number of stumps, approximate width if known, access and how you want to use the area afterwards. Grinding depth, material removal, backfilling and complete root-ball excavation are different considerations. Ask for stump work to be clearly included or separately priced.
Discuss stump grinding and the finishWorking to a budget? Start with the priority
Tell us which problem matters most and whether your timing is flexible. Depending on the tree and site, we can discuss suitable pruning, removal or a scope that separates essential and optional work. Keeping suitable mulch or timber, or organising several jobs together, may be worth discussing. Savings and staged work are not automatic: safety, suitability and the total cost need to be considered first.
Pruning and lopping enquiriesWhy there is no one-size-fits-all price list
A generic starting price can leave out the parts that matter at your property. TLC does not publish a fixed price based on height alone. Send your suburb, the main job and any access or cleanup details so our staff can discuss the next step towards a written quote. There is no booking or payment required to send an enquiry.
Check who can authorise the work
If you rent or are enquiring for someone else, mention who will approve the work. Queensland’s RTA says major tree lopping or pruning is usually carried out by the property manager or owner; the agreement and circumstances matter.

Some trees need approval even on private property. Check current Brisbane City Council requirements and share any approvals or conditions. For trees on Council land, contact Council about the appropriate process.
